Biography

Drew Santa is a PhD student in English at the University of Notre Dame. His work focuses on Anglophone literature from the 1920s to today, with an emphasis on language, ritual, mystical experience, and the divine—especially in such writers as David Jones, Flannery O'Connor, T.S. Eliot, Simon Weil, and Walter Benjamin. Santa's current project seeks to further the "ontological turn" in Jones studies by questioning trends that read Jones through the lens of typology, offering instead an ontological reading from the vantage of Catherine Pickstock's 2020 monograph Aspects of Truth.
