Biography

Cecelia Swartz is a master’s student at the University of Notre Dame from Bethesda, Maryland. Her research explores myth retellings within fantasy and young adult literature with a focus on modern Ireland. She is interested in literature and mythology as cultural products and how traditional stories are retold in new ways to respond to different social and political conditions in a given time period, especially regarding questions of gender.
