Valerie Sayers, the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of English, is the author of The Age of Infidelity and Other Stories and six novels including The Powers. In her first year at Notre Dame, she was lucky enough to teach and learn from Molly Spencer, currently the poetry editor of The Rumpus. Molly's honors include the Brittingham Prize for her debut collection of poetry, If The House; she also won the Crab Orchard Open Competition for her second book, Hinge. Their joint reading will be Molly's first as an ND alumna and Valerie's last as a faculty member: a happy reunion and a full circle, with a mushy good-bye to all.
