Creative Writing Honors Thesis Requirements and Deadlines

Students accepted into the Creative Writing Honors Concentration will be assigned a faculty advisor. They will meet with their advisor and write their theses throughout their senior year. The thesis will consist of an abstract (examples of past abstracts can be found here), a 10-15 page critical essay, and a creative project. The project must entail 40 pages of prose or 20 pages of poetry or the equivalent under the discretion of the Director of Creative Writing.

The deadlines for the Thesis are as follows: 

1. Complete draft of essay to advisor. Monday, April 8, 2019.

2. Complete and final version (20-30 page) in polished form (MLA formatting) with bibliography due to the department (Kelly Huth). Abstract of 200-250 words due as well. Tuesday, April 30, 2019.*

3. English Honors Concentration Thesis Presentations: Thursday, May 2nd 2019, 1-3pm (Second Exam Reading Day). English Department, Decio Hall, Rm. 235 & Commons
