Profile:

Ethan's research tracks the way that medieval narratives critique the sexual, social, and political circumstances in which they were written. He is particularly excited by the diverse and often unexpected mechanisms writers like Chaucer and the Gawain-poet use to accomplish social commentary and subversion. More generally, he is fascinated by the idea of literary mastery. When he’s not researching, he can be found writing creative nonfiction essays and poetry.
