Biography

Matthew McCullough is a Ph.D. student in English at the University of Notre Dame. His research focuses mainly on early modern literature with particular interests in prophetic writing, seventeenth-century conceptualizations of magic, devotional and spiritual writing, mysticism, and the relationships between early modern and 20th/21st century literature. Currently, he is fascinated by the generative language of early modern prophetic writing and the relationships formed between seventeenth-century prophecy and the readers of such texts. He also thinks about Milton at least once a day.
