Biography

Margaret Schlich graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2021 with a BA in English and spent the following year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Bergen, Norway. Having returned to Notre Dame to pursue her master’s, she is interested in the intersection of medieval studies and the environmental humanities, specifically regarding mythologies and processes of placemaking in medieval texts and their subsequent reinterpretations. In particular, she focuses on medieval conceptions of the relationships and divisions between humanity, nonhuman animals, and the wider natural world.
