Felicitas Hoppe will read from her latest work Die Nibelungen: Ein deutscher Stummfilm (2021) in German followed by a reception.
About the Speaker
Born in Hameln, Germany, Felicitas Hoppe is a celebrated author of short stories, novels, children’s books, translations, and feature articles. Her novels include Hoppe (2012) and Prawda: Eine amerikanische Reise [Pravda: An American Trip] (2018). Her many accolades include the most prestigious prize in German literature, the Georg Büchner Prize in 2012, and the first Großer Preis des Deutschen Literaturfonds in 2020.
Hoppe is a member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry. She was the Max Kade Distinguished Visiting Professor at Dartmouth College, and has held other visiting positions at several other universities including the University of Innsbruck, the University of Augsburg, Georgetown University, and the University of Hamburg.
