-

Location: 210-214 McKenna Hall

You are invited to celebrate the acclaimed poetics scholarship of Professor Stephen Fredman at an event held in honor of his retirement: “Thinking Poetically.” The event will be held April 7, 2017, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Notre Dame Conference Center at McKenna Hall (room 210-214), followed by a reception.

The symposium will begin with short talks on present and future directions in poetics scholarship by Notre Dame poetry scholars, and will be followed by a celebratory reading by local poets, and a keynote panel with new scholarship by Peter Nicholls (NYU), Linda Kinnahan (Duquesne), and Jonathan Stalling (University of Oklahoma). The symposium will conclude with a talk by Stephen Fredman on the topic of “Thinking Poetically.”

We are grateful for the support of the conference’s sponsors, including the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts, the Department of English, and the Creative Writing Program.
