Richard A. Strier, Sulzberger Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at the University of Chicago and the 2013-2014 Religion and Literature lecturer, will offer a seminar entitled “God and the Social: Reading Herbert’s ‘Love’ (3).”  Additional poems to be considered include “Dialogue,” “The Holdfast,” “Unkindness,” and “Ungratefulness,” all from Herbert’s The Temple.  Participants should bring copies of these poems with them.
