Z'étoile Imma, Moreau Postdoctoral Scholar at Notre Dame, will present the lecture "Subverting Servility: Postcolonial Masculinitiesand the Politics of Intimate Space in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun" at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, March 6, in 210 McKenna Hall.
Z’étoile Imma received her PhD in 2012 from the University of Virginia, where she was a predoctoral fellow at the Carter Woodson Center. She has published articles and chapters in several edited volumes including Representation and Black Womanhood: The Legacy of Sarah Baartman, edited by Natasha Gordon-Chipembere (Palgrave Macmillan). Her research interests include African and Caribbean literature and film, postcolonial literature and theory, gender and sexuality studies, African cultural studies, Third Cinema, space and city studies, African migration, literature and globalization. She also has interests in creative writing and has published in Brooklyn Review and African Voices, among other journals.
