F.A.C.E.S.: Fighting And Counteracting the Effects of Stereotypes
Please join Professor Cyraina Johnson-Roullier’s University Literature Seminar and 400-Level classes for an edifying and enlightening evening in which you will learn about the history, development and contemporary transformations of the cultural stereotypes and caricatures that have affected African Americans and other groups in American society. By providing more in-depth knowledge about these often troublesome cultural attitudes and ideas, Writing Harlem’s students seek to offer the Notre Dame, IUSB and South Bend communities a space to consider how they might add their own F.A.C.E.S. to the fight!
Enjoy a reception while viewing and discussing student exhibits, and get fired up with the Chicago-style blues tunes of Notre Dame’s own Oblates of Blues!
