Natasha Ali graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in English in 2017. Having lived in Brussels (Belgium), Karachi (Pakistan), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), St Andrews (Scotland), Entrambasaguas (Spain), and the Midwestern United States, Natasha is fascinated by both the notion of belonging and its relation to that of diaspora. She enjoys reading and writing pieces that consider the interplay between one’s native and adopted cultures, one’s foreignness, history, identity, inheritance, insider or outsider status, relationship with language, memories, attempts at negotiation, nostalgia, exercising of ownership, and understandings of patriotism.
