Profile:
Erik Fuhrer is a PhD student in English and Presidential Fellow at the University of Notre Dame. He focuses mainly on 20th century British and Irish modernism though he mainly conceives of modernism as a mode that resists periodization and thus has also included pre-20th century figures like Jonathan Swift and Emily Bronte in his work. Recently he has written on high modernist explorations of queer fractal love that transcends gender and species boundaries and offers a new ethics for becoming with others. He is also a creative writer and will be concurrently pursuing his MFA in poetry at Notre Dame starting in the fall of 2016.
