Profile
Toni Irving’s research and teaching interests include African American literature and culture from 1850 to the present, citizenship, sexuality studies, criminal justice, and critical race theory. Her current book project, "Discipllining Bodies: Black Female Sexuality and Citizenship from Jim Crow to the Patriot Act," considers the relationships among black female sexuality, social policy, and the public consitution of entitlement.
